Signal’s Use proxy won’t connect
Check Did you enter the Proxy302 host there?
Fix That setting only takes Signal TLS proxy addresses. Switch it off and run the proxy in Shadowrocket or v2rayNG instead.
Signal’s own proxy setting won’t take your proxy. Here is where a fixed IP does work.
Signal is blocked in Russia: on 9 August 2024 Roskomnadzor said it had restricted access, and Kommersant found that Signal with default settings no longer sent or received messages there. In mainland China it has been blocked since March 2021. From those networks Signal needs an exit in a country where it works.
Signal’s own answer is a Signal TLS Proxy: an address you find through the #SignalProxy hashtag, get from friends or run yourself on a server with ports 80 and 443 and a domain name. When one is blocked, you switch to another address.
A Proxy302 static ISP IP is a different kind of route: a home-broadband address in one country, fixed for the whole term. It works at the level of the phone, through a proxy app, rather than inside Signal.

| Item | Signal’s Use proxy | Proxy302 proxy |
|---|---|---|
| What it connects to | A Signal TLS Proxy: a relay on ports 80 and 443 with a domain name | An HTTP or SOCKS5 proxy with a username and password |
| What you enter | A proxy address or link — no login fields | Host, port, username and password from My assets |
| Where it goes | Android: Settings → Data and Storage → Use proxy. iPhone: Settings → Privacy → Advanced → Proxy | A proxy app for the whole phone: Shadowrocket on iPhone, v2rayNG on Android |
| Signal Desktop | Not available yet, Signal says | No documented setting — see the FAQ |
Signal’s help center describes Use proxy only for Signal TLS proxies. A Proxy302 proxy therefore goes into a proxy app on the phone, not into Signal’s own setting.

| Item | Choose | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Product | Static ISP proxy | A fixed home-broadband IP, fixed for the whole lease |
| How many IPs | One per phone | Each Signal number keeps its own address |
| Country | One where Signal works, e.g. Germany or the UK | Keep the phone on the same country |
| Protocol | SOCKS5 | It works in both Shadowrocket and v2rayNG; v2rayNG takes SOCKS5 only |
| Term | Renew before the end date | Auto-renewal isn’t available yet; renewing keeps the same IP |
The button below opens static ISP proxies for social accounts with Protocol on HTTP: switch it to SOCKS5, then pick the country and Quantity (up to 100 at a time) before you pay. The IP keeps the protocol you buy it with.
The button below opens static ISP proxies for social accounts. Pick a country where Signal works, set Protocol to SOCKS5 and Quantity to one IP per phone. Click Review cost and generate.
In My assets, View credentials shows host, port, username and password; Copy all copies them in one go.
Add the proxy in Shadowrocket with type SOCKS5 and the four details, select it and switch the connection on. Open ipinfo.io in Safari to check the exit country.
Add a Socks profile in v2rayNG with the same details, select it and tap connect. Open ipinfo.io in the browser to check the exit country.
Leave Signal’s own Use proxy switched off and open the app. Send yourself a note or a message to a contact to confirm it connects.
Expected result Messages send and new ones arrive.
Before continuing From mainland China the proxy usually can’t be reached directly: run the Proxy302 Helper (Connect → Helper tools) on a computer and point the phone app at its local address and port — the phone must be on the same Wi-Fi as that computer.

Check Is the proxy app connected, and does ipinfo.io show the exit country you bought?
Fix Copy the four details from My assets again, reconnect the proxy app, then reopen Signal.
Check Was the IP bought with Protocol HTTP?
Fix v2rayNG takes SOCKS5 only. Use an IP bought with SOCKS5, or Shadowrocket on iPhone, which takes both.
Check Are calls the only thing failing?
Fix We haven’t tested Signal calls through our proxies. Plan on messages.
No. Signal describes that setting for Signal TLS proxies — relays on ports 80 and 443 with a domain name — and it takes only an address. Run a Proxy302 proxy in a proxy app on the phone instead.
In Russia since 9 August 2024, when Roskomnadzor said it had restricted access, and in mainland China since March 2021.
Signal says the method used on phones isn’t available on Desktop yet. Signal Desktop’s source code reads an HTTPS_PROXY environment variable when it starts, but Signal doesn’t document this and we haven’t tested it.
A Signal TLS proxy is run by whoever shares the link, and Signal suggests sharing those addresses privately; when one is blocked you need a new address. A Proxy302 static IP stays the same for your term.
Static. A rotating IP changes between sessions; a static ISP IP keeps the phone on one address.

Check the exit IP, country and ISP your proxy really gives you in 30 seconds — and why IP databases disagree on the city. With our own test of three lookup services.
What separates rotating residential, static ISP and datacenter proxies — who owns the IP, whether it changes, how you pay — and which one Proxy302's own presets pick for each job.
Add a Proxy302 HTTP or SOCKS5 proxy to Shadowrocket on iPhone: which boxes to fill, how to switch it on, how to check your exit IP and what to do in mainland China.
Add a Proxy302 SOCKS5 proxy to v2rayNG on Android, test the connection and check your exit IP. HTTP-only datacenter IPs: use Postern, or get a SOCKS5 one.
Use Proxy302 from mainland China: download the free Helper, keep it running, and paste its local address into AdsPower, the Chrome extension or your phone.
Official documentation · Confirmed on:
Read on 21 October 2026 through a text reader. Use proxy takes a proxy address or link: on Android under Signal Settings → Data and Storage → Use proxy (or Menu → Use proxy right after installing), on iPhone under Signal Settings → Privacy → Advanced → Proxy. Addresses come from the #SignalProxy hashtag, from friends, or from a server you run yourself with ports 80 and 443 and a domain name (Signal TLS Proxy); a blocked proxy has to be replaced with another address; traffic stays opaque to the proxy operator. On Desktop the technique used for the phone is currently not possible.

Read on 21 October 2026: running a Signal TLS proxy needs a host with ports 80 and 443 available and a domain name that points to it.
