Which Countries Block Discord, YouTube and Instagram? 38 Platforms Tested

National blocks, checked against sources, next to our own hourly results: 38 platforms, seven exit countries, one round on 18 October 2026.

Where these platforms are blocked

Mainland China blocks many Western platforms: Google Search (fully since 2014), YouTube, Facebook and X (since 2009), Instagram (September 2014), Pinterest (March 2017), WhatsApp (September 2017), Reddit and Discord (2018), Twitch (September 2018), TikTok (June 2020) and ChatGPT (2023). LinkedIn is only partly reachable.

Russia blocked LinkedIn in 2016 and Facebook and Instagram in 2022, and has restricted X since 2022. Discord followed on 8 October 2024 — the same day Turkey blocked it by court order. Snapchat, Roblox and FaceTime were blocked in early December 2025; YouTube, slowed since August 2024, has been fully blocked since 12 February 2026; calls on WhatsApp and Telegram have been blocked since August 2025; WhatsApp said in February 2026 that Russia had attempted to block it completely, and on 10 February 2026 Roskomnadzor reportedly began slowing Telegram nationwide.

From the countries we test — the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Singapore, Brazil and Indonesia — every one of the 38 platforms below answered in the six hours up to 00:01 UTC on 18 October 2026. A residential IP in one of those countries gives you an ordinary home connection there.

Each country uses one sticky residential exit per round; a round only counts when the exit IP is the same before and after the checks. Only the first three octets of an IP are ever published.

How the hourly check works

Every hour a probe opens each platform through the public Proxy302 entry, proxy.proxy302.com, using one sticky dynamic residential IP per country. It looks up the exit on ipinfo.io before and after the checks, and keeps a country's round only if the IP stayed the same and sits in the right country.

A platform counts as reachable when it gives its normal answer: for most sites a 200 on robots.txt, for ChatGPT and Claude a 401 from their APIs (a key is required, the location is accepted), and for Discord a gateway address. Only successes are published, and each one is kept for six hours. The same results feed the live panel on every platform page.

Times depend on the platform as much as on the country: in this round Google Ads was the quickest (median 0.3 s across the seven countries) and Shopee the slowest (median 3.3 s). Singapore had the lowest median across all 38 — our probe server is in Asia, so pick an exit for where your account lives, not for speed.

Use a platform from a country where it works

  1. Pick the country

Any country where the platform answered in the tables above. For an existing account, use the country the account was created in and keep it.

  2. Pick the product

Logins and accounts: a static ISP IP, one per account — it never changes during your term. Browsing, research and collection: rotating residential with a sticky session.

  3. Set it up in the console

Open the product page and choose the country (rotating residential can also target a state or city on lines that support it) and the protocol; for static ISP and datacenter, also set the quantity (up to 100 IPs at a time). For rotating residential, the console checks the exit country before it hands the proxy over.

Expected result If the exit lands in another country, no proxy is delivered: "The exit country did not match the selected country, so the line was discarded and no usable credentials were returned."

  4. Paste it into your tool

In My assets, open the proxy and use Copy all. Paste host, port, username and password into your browser profile, extension or app, then open ipinfo.io there to confirm the country.

Quick fixes

The platform still does not open through the proxy

Check Open ipinfo.io in the same browser profile or app. Is the exit in a country where the platform answered in the tables above, and is the proxy set on this profile rather than somewhere else on the computer?

Fix Set the proxy where the traffic starts, or switch to an exit in another country from the tables, then reload the platform.

407 or "CONNECT tunnel failed, response 407"

Check Are the username and password exactly the ones on this asset? Our gateway answers 407 when they are missing or wrong.

Fix Copy them again with Copy all in My assets instead of retyping the password.

Generation fails with "The exit country did not match the selected country"

Check For a rotating residential proxy with a chosen country, the console checks the exit before delivery; a line whose exit landed elsewhere is discarded and returns no credentials.

Fix Click Retry, or Switch line.

Common questions

Is Discord blocked in Russia?

Yes. Roskomnadzor restricted Discord on 8 October 2024, and Turkey blocked it the same day. Through residential IPs in the seven countries we test, Discord's gateway answered on 18 October 2026.

Is YouTube blocked in China and Russia?

In mainland China since 2009. In Russia it was slowed from August 2024 and has been fully blocked since 12 February 2026.

Is Instagram blocked in Russia?

Yes, along with Facebook, since 2022.

Does a missing result mean a platform is blocked?

No. We publish successful checks only, and a country can drop out when its exit fails the identity check. Use official notices and news reports for blocks; use our results to see where a platform answers.

Which exit country should I choose?

The one where the account lives or where your customers are. All seven countries reached every platform in this round, so speed differences are small next to keeping one stable location.

Snapshot of the public results for all 38 platforms, round generated at 00:01 UTC on 18 October 2026. Every hour the probe opens each platform through the public entry proxy.proxy302.com with one sticky dynamic residential IP per country, checks the exit with ipinfo.io before and after, and publishes successful checks only.

Successful checks are kept for six hours. No result for a country means no success in that window, not proof of a block.
