Hubstudio Proxy Failed: 5 Checks When Check Proxy Does Not Pass

When Check proxy fails in Hubstudio, the cause is usually the proxy type, the four fields, expiry or the network.

What you see

You click 检查代理 (Check proxy; the help pages also call it 检测代理) when creating an environment or after 修改代理 (change proxy), and instead of a pass the check fails.

Hubstudio's own notes say a proxy check can fail with some probability. So do not swap the IP at once: go through the checks below in order, check again after each change, and stop at the first one that fixes it.

1. Does the proxy type match the IP's protocol?

Where to look: click 新建环境 (New environment), choose 浏览器环境 (browser environment), scroll to the proxy settings, set 代理方式 (proxy method) to 自定义 (Custom) and look at 代理类型 (proxy type). For an existing environment, find its proxy info in the environment list and click 修改代理 (change proxy). Hubstudio supports socks5, http, https and ssh.

What to change: the type must match the protocol the provider gave you. In Proxy302 My assets every IP has an HTTP or SOCKS5 tag; an IP has only the protocol chosen at purchase and there is no switch. Hubstudio's https and ssh are not used by Proxy302.

One trap in bulk add: when a line has no type, Hubstudio treats it as SOCKS5, so an HTTP IP pasted without its type fails the check.

2. Are all four fields filled and correct?

Where to look: in the same proxy settings, make sure 代理主机 (host), 代理端口 (port), 代理账号 (account) and 代理密码 (password) all have content. Hubstudio says all four come from the provider; account and password may stay empty only for whitelist-verified or local-port proxies. A Proxy302 IP needs the account and password.

What to change: go back to My assets and copy each value with its copy button, without spaces at either end. You can also paste the whole host:port:user:pass line into the host box and Hubstudio splits it for you.

Bulk add takes type://host:port:account:password or type://account:password@host:port, one proxy per line and up to 100 at a time. A field must not contain @ or a colon, or parsing fails; in that case use single add.

3. Has the IP expired or the traffic run out?

Hubstudio's note says: when a check fails, first make sure the IP is valid, for example that the parameters are right and the IP is within its term; once it is valid, check again, and only then contact support.

Where to look: log in to Proxy302 and open My assets for the IP's end date; for rotating residential, look at the traffic left.

What to change: renew or generate again if it has expired. If the IP is within its term but will not connect, open a Support ticket with the order number and we reissue it. After generating a new one, update the details in Hubstudio; note Hubstudio's warning that editing a saved proxy changes every environment bound to it.

4. Is the computer running Hubstudio on an overseas network?

Hubstudio says checking a proxy needs, besides correct details, an overseas network environment prepared in advance, and its Proxy302 tutorial notes that connecting must be done from an overseas environment.

What to change: if your computer is outside mainland China, skip this one. In mainland China, start the Proxy302 Helper from the helper tool guide first, keep it open, then click check proxy again. If you are not sure the network is the problem, run the command-line test below: if the command works and Hubstudio does not, go back to checks 1 and 2.

5. The check passes but the country is wrong: IP query channel and proxy protocol

"IP query channel" offers IP2location, MaxMind and DB-IP. Hubstudio says the channels can return slightly different results, and if the result does not match the real information you can switch channel and look again.

代理协议 (proxy protocol) defaults to speed first; choosing IPv4 or IPv6 makes the environment use only that type. Leave it on the default unless you have a reason.

How to compare: put the country in the check result next to the country of that IP in My assets. If all three channels disagree, open a ticket with the order number.

Rule Hubstudio out with the command line

To tell whether the proxy itself is down or the details in Hubstudio are wrong, test it from a terminal on the same computer. Replace the capitalised placeholders with the values from My assets.

Command-line test: example

curl -x http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@HOST:PORT https://ipinfo.io/json

# SOCKS5 (DNS is also resolved through the proxy)
curl -x socks5h://USERNAME:PASSWORD@HOST:PORT https://ipinfo.io/json

Example only: replace the placeholders with your own. Use the first line for an HTTP IP and the second for a SOCKS5 IP.

Reading the result

A JSON answer with the exit IP, country and provider means the proxy works, so the problem is what was entered in Hubstudio (checks 1, 2 and 5). A timeout or refusal points to the proxy or the network (checks 3 and 4); the proxy connection guide goes further. A 407 means the account or password is wrong.

Confirm the exit IP

When the check passes, Click 完成 (finish) and open the environment: Hubstudio says an opened environment has a detection page with an IP check, for reference only, and the Proxy302 tutorial says that if the IP shown in the browser equals the generated IP, the setup worked.

You can also open https://ipinfo.io/json in the environment's browser; the ip field is the current exit. It should equal the IP in My assets. If it does not, the environment is not using this proxy, so check which proxy the environment is bound to. More ways to verify are in the guide on checking an IP's location.

How to do it with Proxy302

Hubstudio only uses the proxy for the environment; it does not provide one. A Proxy302 IP goes into Hubstudio at the level of host, port, account and password. The full illustrated steps are on the Hubstudio proxy setup page.

How to do it with Proxy302: steps

  1. Step 1

Log in to Proxy302, open the IP in My assets, note its protocol tag and copy host, port, username and password.

  2. Step 2

In Hubstudio click 新建环境 (New environment), choose 浏览器环境 (browser environment), enter a name, scroll to the proxy settings, choose 自定义 (Custom) and set 代理类型 (proxy type) to the same HTTP or Socks5 as in Proxy302.

  3. Step 3

Fill 代理主机 (host), 代理端口 (port), 代理账号 (account) and 代理密码 (password), click 检查代理 (check proxy), and click 完成 (finish) when it passes.

  4. Step 4

Open the environment and confirm the exit IP with https://ipinfo.io/json.

FAQ

Check proxy keeps failing in Hubstudio. What first?

Check that the proxy type matches the IP's protocol, then that host, port, account and password are all filled. These two cause most failures. Change one thing and check again.

The same IP passes sometimes and fails other times. Why?

Hubstudio's notes say a proxy check can fail with some probability and suggest confirming the parameters and the term first, then checking again. If it keeps failing, run the command-line test and contact Proxy302 Support with the order number.

Why does a bulk import fail?

Three common causes: a line without a type (Hubstudio takes SOCKS5), a field containing @ or a colon (parsing fails), or more than 100 lines. Switch to single add and check line by line.

How do I change the proxy of an existing environment?

Find the environment's proxy info in the environment list, click 修改代理 (change proxy), enter the new four details, check, and save.

Which protocol should a cloud phone use?

Hubstudio recommends a SOCKS5 proxy for cloud phones: create the phone, click 网络设置 (network settings), fill in the proxy and start it once 检测代理 (check proxy) passes.

Does every environment need its own IP?

Hubstudio advises one IP per environment, with the account managed in that one environment, for platforms where a stable IP matters, and generally advises against giving several environments the same proxy. A proxy only sets which network an environment uses; it does not change any platform's rules, so use accounts the way the platform itself allows.
