Proxy address, port, username and password
Every working proxy is described by five basic fields: protocol, host address, port, login, and password.
On Android the system proxy is set for a Wi-Fi network, but it is not always enough: apps can ignore it, and Google's help describes no username or password fields. Below are the steps, the limits and a fallback.
Google's Pixel help describes the path like this (on other devices the steps may vary).
Open your device's Settings app.
Tap Network & internet, then Internet.
Tap a network.
Tap Edit, then Advanced options.
Under "Proxy," tap the down arrow and pick the configuration type.
If needed, enter the proxy settings.
Tap Save.
The proxy is set for the network you picked: in the help the setting sits in the options of one network. The help describes no such setting for mobile data.
Google's help says only "enter the proxy settings" and does not list the fields. Have the address, port, username and password from My assets ready. Proxy302 HTTP is on port 2222 of proxy.proxy302.com and SOCKS5 on port 3333. Google's help describes no username and password fields, so if the system setting does not offer them, use a client app (below).
The Android Emulator networking page of Android's developer documentation says of the Android system proxy that it is used by web browsers and most applications, but some apps may ignore the system's proxy settings. Its comparison table adds that the Android system proxy primarily handles only HTTP and HTTPS traffic. The ProxyInfo class reference adds that proxy configurations are integrated into java.net and Apache HTTP, so URLConnection and HttpClient use them automatically, while other HTTP stacks must obtain the proxy information themselves.
In practice: if an app shows your usual IP, it may not read the system proxy, and traffic that is not plain HTTP or HTTPS may not be covered by the system proxy.
If an app needs more than the system setting, or you need SOCKS5 or a login, use a client app. The site has a guide to v2rayNG for Android, where you enter the address, port, username and password in the app itself.
Open https://ipinfo.io/json in the phone's browser. The ip and country fields should belong to the proxy, not to your own connection. If your usual address shows, check that the phone is on the Wi-Fi network you set the proxy for. The proxy location guide explains the fields.
Repeat the path from the steps above and, under Proxy, set the value that uses no proxy, then save. Open https://ipinfo.io/json and confirm your usual address shows.
A wrong port: Proxy302 HTTP is 2222 and SOCKS5 is 3333. Do not type the SOCKS5 port into the system proxy setting. Check that the phone is on the Wi-Fi network you set the proxy for. Some apps ignore the system proxy. If the username or password is not accepted, see the authentication guide.
Android needs the address, port, username and password of a Proxy302 proxy: HTTP on proxy.proxy302.com port 2222, SOCKS5 on port 3333. Rotating residential traffic is billed per GB and the exit country is set when you generate the proxy; a static ISP IP stays fixed for the whole lease term and does not rotate. The table shows exits in 7 countries from our latest hourly check; the probe sends its request to ChatGPT, which is only an example target of a network check. A proxy does not change ChatGPT's terms, and OpenAI's list of supported countries still applies. Details are on the static ISP page and in the proxy location guide.

Hourly check of the Proxy302 probe, 25 October 2026, 08:29 UTC: one request to ChatGPT per country through a dynamic residential exit, using the public Proxy302 entry. Only the first three octets of an IP are public. One sample per country, not an average; later checks will differ.
Open the rotating residential page, choose the line, and keep Protocol on HTTP or choose SOCKS5, then click Review cost and generate.
Open My assets (the console page that holds everything you bought) and copy HOST, PORT, USERNAME and PASSWORD. The Connect page shows a ready example with your own endpoint.
Enter the details in the browser or tool you are setting up.
Confirm the exit with https://ipinfo.io/json through the proxy.
From mainland China, start the helper tool from the Connect page first and keep it open while you use the proxy.
The Budget line costs US$1.50 per GB, US$1.35 per GB in a 100 GB package and US$1.20 per GB at 300 GB. There is no free trial, and the smallest purchase is 1 GB. Which exit locations are available changes daily.
No. Android's developer documentation says some apps may ignore the system's proxy settings.
Google's help describes no such fields. If you need a login, use a client app.
Through a client app such as v2rayNG. Proxy302 SOCKS5 is on port 3333.
Open https://ipinfo.io/json in the browser and compare the country and network with your direct connection.
