Pay Per GB Proxies: How Gigabytes Are Counted and When Renting an IP Costs Less

How gigabytes are counted when you pay per GB, what the Proxy302 lines cost, how to estimate the volume you need and when renting an IP costs less.

What you buy when you pay per GB

There are two ways to pay for traffic, and they look different in the console.

Prepaid traffic. You buy any whole number of GB, or a package, for one line, Budget or Premium. The GB are credited right after purchase, are marked No expiry and are used up by proxies of that line. Traffic bought for one line does not move to the other. Each generation creates one proxy, which draws on the GB you have already bought.

Pay as you go. If the console offers PTC wallet debit for a line, a new proxy is paid for by the traffic it actually transfers, at the line's rate, with no package to buy. The rate and the minimum wallet balance are shown before you generate.

In both cases you choose the protocol, HTTP or SOCKS5, when you create the proxy, and the price does not depend on it.

Prices: Budget and Premium lines

The price per GB depends on the line and the package size. Any quantity from 1 GB is bought at the line's base price. These are the price list figures as of 18 October 2026, in US dollars; 1 PTC in your balance equals US$1.

The Premium line costs more per GB. If a site you need does not work well on the Budget line, you can try Premium; neither line is a promise of access to a particular site. The comparison of residential, ISP and datacenter proxies explains how the proxy types differ. One purchase can be up to 10,000 GB.

How to estimate how many GB you need

Do not guess the volume from an average page size: it depends on the site and on your tool. Measuring it yourself is more reliable, and a good way to start is to buy the minimum, 1 GB, and test your estimate on a real task. The steps below show how.

How to estimate how many GB you need: steps

  1. Step 1

Run the task on a small sample, for example 100 pages.

  2. Step 2

Check how much data your tool transferred. In curl, -w '%{size_download}' prints the response size, and in a browser the Network panel in the developer tools shows it.

  3. Step 3

Divide the volume by the number of pages processed and multiply by the number you plan.

  4. Step 4

Add a margin: headers, repeated requests and redirects also use traffic.

Static ISP per GB

You can use static ISP without a lease. On the static ISP page, switch Billing to Per GB (PTC/GB): the console generates a Fixed ISP exit for free, and traffic is debited from your wallet at US$3.50 per GB. The wallet must hold at least 0.01 PTC. You choose only the country, from 13, with no region or city. This exit is not reserved for you for long: holding the same IP for a long time is not promised.

When renting an IP costs less

Compare a 30-day static ISP lease at US$7.99 with the Fixed ISP exit at US$3.50 per GB. The break-even point is US$7.99 ÷ US$3.50 ≈ 2.28 GB. If you transfer less than 2.3 GB in 30 days, paying per GB is cheaper; if more, the lease is cheaper. This is a comparison on price only: a lease gives you a dedicated IP that is not sold to anyone else, while the per-GB ISP exit is not reserved for anyone.

How to do it with Proxy302

Rotating residential proxies suit work that needs many requests from different IPs, where you pay only for the GB transferred.

How to do it with Proxy302: steps

  1. Step 1

Open the residential traffic purchase page and choose the line (Budget or Premium), the country and the protocol.

  2. Step 2

Buy the number of GB you need, or choose PTC wallet debit if the line offers it.

  3. Step 3

Create the proxy and open My assets, where you will find HOST, PORT, USERNAME and PASSWORD. The Connect page shows a ready example with your own details.

  4. Step 4

Enter the details in your tool and check the exit with a request to https://ipinfo.io/json through the proxy: the response contains the fields ip, city, region, country and org.

Prices and limits

The Budget line starts at US$1.50 per GB and Premium at US$5.00. There is no free trial, and the smallest purchase is 1 GB. Current prices and payment methods are on the pricing page.
