Affiliate Marketing Proxies: Test Affiliate Links by Country

Test your own link from every market you promote — before your traffic does.

Why affiliate links need checking from each country

Affiliate links can send visitors somewhere different by country. Amazon's OneLink, for example, redirects international shoppers to their own Amazon store — 'close match' by default, neighbouring countries to the nearest store — and doesn't redirect links made with third-party shorteners.

If the traffic comes from Google Ads, the redirect chain is part of the review: Google disapproves ads whose final URL redirects to a different domain or whose tracking template doesn't lead to the same content as the final URL, and asks that the GCLID reaches the final landing page for conversion tracking.

So test the whole path from every GEO you promote — network redirect, merchant redirect, final page and parameters. A residential IP in the target country shows the path a local visitor gets; a check from home only proves one of them.

Test affiliate links by country in 5 steps

  1. Open the setup

    Click Configure affiliate testing proxies below. The console opens Rotating Residential Proxies with Use case: Ad verification — Budget line, HTTP, United States suggested.

  2. Buy traffic for the line

    Under Line keep Budget, or switch to Premium if you want to pick the ISP. Open Add traffic, pick a package or enter Custom GB, and click Buy selected package. Purchases start at 1 GB.

  3. Pick the market and generate

    In Connection settings leave Exit mode on Choose region / sticky IP. Choose Region, then State and City if the campaign targets a city. Click Review cost and generate: Proxy302 checks that the new proxy really exits in that country before handing it over. Repeat for each market.

  4. Trace the link per GEO

    Run the script below with one proxy per GEO, or open the link in a fresh browser profile per GEO with DevTools → Network → Preserve log on. Note every hop, its status code and the domain it lands on.

  5. Compare with the offer terms

    Check that each GEO lands on the store, language, currency and offer the program allows there, and that your sub ID and UTM tags are still on the final URL. A GEO that hits a block page is one you shouldn't send traffic from.

from urllib.parse import parse_qs, urljoin, urlparse
import requests

LINK = "https://example.com/go/offer?sub_id=test123&utm_source=test"
KEEP = ["sub_id", "utm_source"] # parameters that must reach the final page
# One proxy per GEO, copied from My assets in the Proxy302 console
MARKETS = {
    "us": "http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@HOST:PORT",
    "gb": "http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@HOST:PORT",
}
HEADERS = {"User-Agent": "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64)"}

for market, proxy in MARKETS.items():
    session = requests.Session()
    session.proxies = {"http": proxy, "https": proxy}
    exit_ip = session.get("https://api.ipify.org", timeout=20).text
    print(f"--- {market} via {exit_ip}")
    url = LINK
    for _ in range(15):
        r = session.get(url, headers=HEADERS, allow_redirects=False, timeout=20)
        print(r.status_code, url)
        location = r.headers.get("Location")
        if r.status_code not in (301, 302, 303, 307, 308) or not location:
            break
        url = urljoin(url, location)
    params = parse_qs(urlparse(url).query)
    missing = [name for name in KEEP if name not in params]
    print("final:", url, "| missing:", ", ".join(missing) or "none")

Python with requests. It follows HTTP redirects one hop at a time through each GEO's proxy, prints every hop and lists tracking parameters missing from the final URL. JavaScript and meta-refresh redirects need a real browser — open those in a browser profile with the same proxy.

Quick fixes

The link lands on the wrong country's store

Check Does the exit match the GEO? Did an earlier visit leave a cookie in the profile?

Fix Use a fresh profile per GEO. For Amazon OneLink, check the match setting and use Amazon full or short links — third-party shortened links aren't redirected.

Tracking parameters disappear

Check Which hop drops them — your redirect, the network or the merchant?

Fix Fix that hop or pass the parameters in a way it keeps. For Google Ads traffic the GCLID has to reach the final landing page.

The chain ends on a 'not available in your country' page

Check Is the offer limited to other GEOs?

Fix That's the program's targeting: don't send traffic from that market, and test with a proxy in an allowed GEO.

Generation stops: “The exit region does not match the selected region”

Check Is supply short for that country on this line right now?

Fix Try again, or switch Line between Premium and Budget and generate again; each line uses its own traffic. The proxy is only delivered once the exit country matches.

Affiliate link testing FAQ

Which proxies do affiliate marketers need for link checks?

Rotating residential with a sticky session per GEO: a local home IP that holds through the whole redirect chain, and a fresh one when you generate again.

Why does my Amazon link go to a different store abroad?

OneLink redirects international shoppers to their local Amazon store — close match by default, neighbouring countries to the nearest store. Third-party shortened links aren't redirected.

Will Google Ads reject my affiliate redirects?

Google disapproves ads whose final URL redirects to a different domain, or whose tracking template leads to different content. Trace the chain per GEO before you launch.

Can I test by city?

Yes. Choose Region, State and City in Connection settings and generate one proxy per city.

Rotating or static proxies?

Rotating residential for tests — a fresh local visitor each time. Static ISP only for a logged-in network or merchant account you keep in one country.
