Proxy for Ozon: checking prices by region and logging in to the seller account

With Ozon, a proxy is usually tied to two tasks: viewing a listing the way a buyer from another region sees it, and logging in to the seller account from a constant address. This article covers only the network side.

Two tasks, two proxy types

The first task is to view a public product listing through the eyes of a buyer from another region. The second is to log in to the seller account from a constant address. Rotating residential proxies are more convenient for the first, and a static ISP proxy with a fixed address for the second.

A proxy changes only the network address the site sees. What is allowed on the platform is set by its rules. If you are a seller and need your own store data, first check whether it is available in the official Ozon Seller API and read the terms of use.

Checking listings from different regions

Whether a listing shows different prices or availability by region is decided by the platform, so read what Ozon says about it. To compare, open the same listing with different region settings and compare. If you need to see a listing from an address in another country, use rotating residential proxies: the exit country is set when you create the proxy, and traffic is billed per GB. More details are on the rotating residential proxies page. Regular price checks are covered in the price monitoring section.

Before automatic collection, check the site's robots.txt. The RFC 9309 standard describes robots.txt as rules that crawlers are requested to follow, and states that they are not a form of access authorization. Pause between requests.

Logging in to the seller account

A static ISP proxy is suitable for logging in to the account from a constant address: the address is fixed for the whole lease term and does not rotate, and on a lease of 30 days or longer it is dedicated. Details are on the static residential proxies page. How many accounts you can run, and how, is set by Ozon's rules.

How to check the proxy

Open https://ipinfo.io/json through the proxy. The country field should show the country you need, and org should show the proxy's network, not your own connection; how to read the fields is explained in the guide to checking a proxy's location. The address, port, login and password are described in the guide to proxy details.

Example with Python requests

The Requests documentation says the proxy is passed in the proxies argument, and advises setting a timeout for requests to external servers. More details are in the requests guide.

Example with Python requests: example

import requests

proxy = "http://USERNAME:PASSWORD@proxy-host:port"
proxies = {"http": proxy, "https": proxy}

r = requests.get("https://ipinfo.io/json", proxies=proxies, timeout=(5, 20))
print(r.json())

Replace USERNAME, PASSWORD, proxy-host and port with your proxy details.

Common errors

Code 407 means the proxy did not accept the login and password: copy the details again and check the encoding of special characters, see the guide to error 407. A timeout usually points to a wrong port or protocol type; the checks are listed in the guide to connection failures.

How to do it with Proxy302

Any of these scenarios needs only the address, port, login and password of a Proxy302 proxy. Rotating residential proxy traffic is billed per GB, and the exit country is set when you create the proxy; HTTP uses port 2222 and SOCKS5 uses port 3333 on proxy.proxy302.com. A static ISP IP is fixed for the whole lease term and does not rotate. The availability of addresses in the country you need is shown on the order page. The table shows exits in 7 countries at our latest hourly check; the probe sends a request to ChatGPT, which is only an example of a target site. Details are on the rotating residential proxies page and in the guide to checking a proxy's location.

How to do it with Proxy302: steps

  1. Step 1

    Open the rotating residential page, choose the line, and keep Protocol on HTTP or choose SOCKS5, then click Review cost and generate.

    Enter the details in the browser or tool you are setting up.

  4. Step 4

    Confirm the exit with https://ipinfo.io/json through the proxy.

  5. Step 5

    From mainland China, start the helper tool from the Connect page first and keep it open while you use the proxy.

Prices and limits

The Budget line costs US$1.50 per GB, US$1.35 per GB in a 100 GB package and US$1.20 per GB at 300 GB. There is no free trial, and the smallest purchase is 1 GB. Which exit locations are available changes daily.
